IGI or GSI: which certification is right for you?
Both IGI and GSI grade your lab-grown diamond's cut, colour, clarity and carat weight on the same scale, so your diamond and its grades are the same either way. The difference is speed: GSI issues the certificate in about 2 days, IGI in about 9 days.

Which should you choose?
Want your piece sooner, or buying for a date? Choose GSI. Prefer the longer-established lab's name on your certificate and don't mind waiting about a week longer? Choose IGI. Either way, the diamond you receive is exactly the same.
Common questions
Is IGI better than GSI?
Not for your diamond. Both labs grade the same 4Cs on the same scale. IGI is the older lab and takes longer; GSI is faster and widely used by major US retailers. The stone and its quality are identical either way.
Does certification change my diamond?
No. Certification documents your diamond's cut, colour, clarity and carat weight. It does not change the stone.
How much time does certification add to shipping?
GSI adds about 2 days and IGI about 9 days before your piece ships. The ship-by date on each product page updates when you choose one.
How do I add certification?
Choose IGI or GSI in the Certification menu next to Add to cart on any eligible piece. It is added to your order as its own line.
