Your pieces are crafted to last a lifetime. With a little care and attention, they'll stay as brilliant as the day you received them. Follow these guidelines to protect your investment.
About Your Lab Grown Diamond
Our diamonds are created in a controlled environment and are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds — same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), same brilliance, same durability.
Lab grown diamonds do not deteriorate over time. They cannot be scratched by everyday materials. However, the metal settings, prongs, and bands do require regular care to keep your piece looking its best and to protect the stone securely.
Everyday Cleaning
Regular, gentle cleaning prevents the build-up of oils, lotions, and debris that dull your stone's brilliance.
At-Home Cleaning
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm (not hot) water.
Soak your piece for 20–30 minutes.
Gently scrub with a soft toothbrush — focus on under the stone and around prongs.
Rinse thoroughly under clean running water.
Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Air dry fully before storing.
How Often to Clean
Weekly — quick rinse with water after wearing.
Monthly — full soap soak as above.
Every 6–12 months — professional ultrasonic cleaning and prong inspection recommended.
Clean more frequently if you work with your hands, exercise regularly, or use skincare products daily.
Care by Metal Type
Each metal in our collection has slightly different care requirements. Find your metal below.
Sterling Silver
Silver tarnishes naturally — this is normal and easily reversed.
Use a silver polishing cloth to restore shine — do not use paper towels.
Store in an anti-tarnish pouch or airtight bag with a silica sachet.
Avoid exposure to air, moisture, and sulfur (rubber, wool, some foods).
Remove before swimming, showering, and exercising.
White Gold
White gold is plated with rhodium for a bright white finish — this can wear over time.
Re-plating every 12–18 months maintains the finish.
Clean with warm soapy water — avoid abrasive polishes.
Chlorine and bleach can damage the rhodium layer — remove before swimming.
Remove before applying hand creams or perfumes.
Yellow Gold
The most durable gold finish — does not tarnish or require re-plating.
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
Polish with a gold polishing cloth to restore lustre.
Avoid contact with chlorine — it weakens gold alloys over time.
Higher karat gold (18k) is softer — store separately to avoid scratches.
Rose Gold
The copper content gives rose gold its warm hue — it will deepen slightly with age (a natural patina).
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
Do not use silver polish or abrasive cleaners — they can strip the finish.
Avoid acids (lemon juice, vinegar) and household cleaners.
Some individuals with copper sensitivities may experience a green tint on skin — this is harmless and washes off.
What to Avoid
These are the most common causes of damage to fine jewellery.
Always Remove Your Jewellery Before:
Swimming — chlorine in pools and salt in seawater both degrade metals and can loosen settings.
Showering or bathing — soaps, shampoos, and conditioners leave residue that dulls stones.
Applying products — perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, and lotions should be applied and dried before putting on jewellery.
Exercising or sport — impact, sweat, and friction can scratch or deform metal bands.
Sleeping — chains tangle and prongs can catch on fabric, bending or loosening over time.
Housework or gardening — cleaning chemicals and abrasive surfaces are harsh on all metals.
Storage
Proper storage prevents scratches, tangling, and tarnish between wears.
Best Practices
Store each piece separately in its own soft pouch or compartment — diamonds can scratch other metals and stones.
Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Use a lined jewellery box with individual slots for rings and hooks for necklaces.
Include silica gel sachets to absorb moisture, especially for silver.
Lay necklaces flat or hang them to prevent kinking and tangling.
What to Avoid in Storage
Do not store in the bathroom — humidity accelerates tarnish.
Avoid plastic bags for long-term storage (traps moisture).
Do not pile pieces together loosely.
Keep away from direct sunlight — UV can fade certain stone colours over time.
Do not store near rubber bands or wool — sulfur compounds accelerate silver tarnish.
Professional Servicing
Even with perfect at-home care, professional servicing extends the life of your piece significantly.
We Recommend a Professional Check Every 12 Months
Prong inspection — prongs wear down and can loosen over time, putting your diamond at risk of loss.
Ultrasonic cleaning — removes deep-set dirt from settings that home cleaning cannot reach.
Rhodium re-plating — for white gold pieces that show wear on the finish.
Polishing — removes fine surface scratches from the band to restore original lustre.
Clasp and catch inspection — for necklaces and bracelets, ensures closures are secure.
